Speaker: Andrew Watchorn, Field Engineer for National Instruments based in Richmond Virginia. Click Here for the speaker's bio.
The presentation will include a demonstration of the latest instrumentation technologies and software techniques for characterization and test systems. These systems can reduce test times by more than 50% and improve measurement accuracies on DC to RF signals up to 20% compared to traditional measurement techniques.
LabVIEW is National Instruments software for the automation of DC, RF and audio/video measurements such as NTSC video stimulus-response, analog demodulation, power supply waveform characterization, and digital audio generation. It simplifies the task of connecting to and communicating with a wide variety of GPIB, serial, Ethernet, PXI, and VXI instruments. LabVIEW includes a graphical development environment for defining signal acquisition, measurement analysis, and data presentation, allowing the user the flexibility of a programming language without the complexity of traditional development tools.
Andrew Watchorn is a Field Engineer for National Instruments based in Richmond Virginia. Previous to his association with National Instruments, Andrew worked for Delphi Automotives Delco Electronics Division focusing on Head-up-Displays and vehicle instrumentation. Andrew received Bachelors Degrees in both Engineering-Physics and Education-Music from the University of Michigan, and briefly taught chorus at Flint Central High School in Michigan. In his spare time Andrew rows with the Virginia Boat Club and is a member of the James River singers and Toastmasters International.
